Here are two new shots from a recent shoot I did with one of my favorite photographers, Michael Leach.

I normally don’t like how I look with bangs, or short hair for that matter, but I think the wig worked well here. And I am really happy with how the MUA, Katie did my make-up.

I will have more new work to post soon! Actually I already have a ton of images to post, it is just the free time that I am lacking.

Boston Photo Shoot

As some of you may know I have been doing a lot less modeling recently. Between my day job, the volunteer work I do, and some lingering health issues booking modeling work has just been my lowest priority. I have however been having a lot of fun getting behind the camera these days. It’s nice for a change just to focus on making a good image and not worrying about how I look. I haven’t been able to shoot very much yet but did have a fun shoot awhile back with two lovely models, Sibyl and Undine Blue. Here are a few favorites of mine from that shoot:

I would have loved to explore this area more but we got kicked out pretty quickly. The church security told use we couldn’t take photos in front of the church even though I saw people doing it all day.

Sibyl in front of the reflecting pool, the church really does make a great backdrop.

These images in front of the fountain were really hard to shoot since it was starting to get pretty dark, you can see the street lights on in the background. The auto-focus on my camera kept refusing to work and my shutter speed was getting pretty slow so I really wished I had a tripod and my glasses. But despite the difficulties I am still happy with how they came out.

New Photography Work

It seems like I haven’t posted an update in forever! I have been super busy recently with my new job and am a bit behind on my photo/video editing. I could really use a break from staring at my computer screen but wanted to share some new work first.

I have been trying to devote more time to developing my photography skills so I asked Mistress Titania to model some of her sexy latex outfits for me. She did a wonderful job, especially considering it was almost 90 degrees out that day! If case you don’t know, wearing latex in the heat is brutal. It’s not exactly a breathable material.

The poppy dress she wore is from Collective Chaos. I really love the design of this dress, it makes me want to buy some new latex You can see the rest of the photos from this shoot and more at Mistress Titania’s Night Flirt page HERE. We also shot a set of her in purple latex in a dark creepy cellar. This was a bit of a challenge since I am not all that used to using studio lighting and it was around 1am so my brain was starting to shut off at this point. But despite that I am happy with how they came out.

I still have more photos to go though and edit of both of those outfits. Looks like I will be glued to my computer for quite a while!

Natural Light

I love using natural light in photos. It looks so soft and warm.

I was in front of a third floor window for this shoot. Right across the street were kids walking home from school. Luckily no one ever thinks to look up when walking.

new site, more travel and guitars!

So much is going on with my life right now so I probably wont have time to post anything new for awhile but figured I’d update everyone on what is going on. First things first, I have decided to rebuild my old website since I am not really happy with certain things about wordpress. I will most likely keep this as a blog and just imbed it into one of the pages of my new site. It will probably take me awhile to get my old site up again because even though I think I still have the html and CSS files I just haven’t had much free time recently. I have two photo shoots this weekend that I am very excited for. I have also been re-learning how to play guitar. Years ago I used to be able to play speed metal but had to quit because I was starting to get odd pains in my hands that I think were carpel tunnel. But lately I’ve really been missing playing so I figured I’d give it another shot. I also have a photographer who wants to shoot me naked with my guitar so that should be fun.

And speaking of fun awesome shoots, I will most likely be traveling to Seattle and Vancouver sometime this November. It will be a mix of sight-seeing and photo shoots I’ll post more details on that as soon as I have them.

Interview with Oktane

Meet the lovely Oktane. She’s a model, art critic and all around bad ass!

-What inspired you to start modeling?

My start to modeling was quite different than most people’s. I was contacted by a photographer on myspace asking me to do a shoot (they liked my tattoos, plain and simple) and slowly got involved with the more pinup rockabilly modeling then. I grew out of it and wanted some sort of hobby to occupy my spare time.

-What do you enjoy most about being a model?

When i first started modeling, I worked at a restaurant with a really strict uniform policy, so wearing something other than khakis was a huge relief and something really exciting. Now I just like creating images that really inspire people and speak for themselves about me.

-Are there any photographers/models who have inspired you or that you really enjoy working with?

MellyKitty, hands down. The first time I met her, we got naked on a rooftop together. Now I drive 160 miles round trip just to go hang out with her. Someday I’m hoping to be as good of a model as she is!

I feel the same about jerhoc, my photographer from Deviant Nation. A few months after our first shoot together, we committed to the fact that he’s pretty much going to be the only person to shoot me. He’s incredibly talented, I don’t look half as good unless he’s the one behind the camera!

-Has posing nude on the internet ever caused any problems for you in real life like family or coworkers coming across your photos?

It’s never really affected me. My coworkers have to tell me to put my pants back on at least four or five times a day because I keep using my body as reference to their artwork. My family for the most part generally know that I’m nude on the internet, but more along the lines of a don’t ask don’t tell basis. My mom’s pretty open about it and keeps asking me for copies of my pictures because she thinks they’re cute… not so much sexy. Just really natural. It bothers my brother to some degree, I’m sure. One of my cousins is probably my number one fan, primarily cause I’m not a PINK girl.

-You mentioned that your husband is a practicing Buddhist, has being naked on the internet ever come in conflict with his or your religious beliefs?

None of my religious beliefs actually interfere with my being nude. I don’t really believe in sin, or god so much as I do making things right and living well.

Even if it was an issue, he just wants me to be famous so his band can get some points off of me (major shout OUT: Killing The Messenger, DENVER METAL http://www.myspace.com/messengerkill)

-Society has become more accepting of tattoos recently but there is still a stigma attached to heavily tattooed people, especially girls. What about tattoos appeal to you and have you ever had any negative experiences because of being tattooed?

My grandmother disowned me for almost 4 years. I showed up to her house when I was 19 with a double nostril piercing, a monroe and a vertical labret. A few weeks later I had my chest piece done. I had just dropped out of college, and she freaked out. My sister was in law school and my brother had kids, so I think she thought no one would ever want me, because she certainly didn’t. It wasn’t until I had my really oddly religious uncle talked to her at the death of my grandfather saying how my grandpa never gave a shit and just wanted me to express myself that she even started acknowledging me again. She now keeps calling me asking if I want stuff.

However outside the family, Denver’s got a pretty relaxed social setting as to girls with tattoos. I meet most of my friends by having people approach me about my tattoos. I met my husband by him complimenting my tattoos (I have far more than he does). On top of that, I manage a tattoo studio. I can’t sell my product unless I use it. My owner agrees and tattoos me until I cry once a month just to make SURE all my tattoos are perfect. He can’t WAIT until I get all my old shit lasered off so he can go crazy on the rest of my body.
